We are pleased to invite you to Workshop 2026 during The Overflate conference – the day before the main conference starts.

The purpose of the workshop is to facilitate the exchange of experiences and create a good discussion platform where all participants can actively contribute. In 2025, we focused on the correct use of tools and compliance with NORSOK requirements when using rollers and brooms. This gave very good feedback, and there was a clear desire to further develop the topics in upcoming workshops.

In 2026, we will focus on repairing paint damage under demanding environmental conditions, with particular emphasis on the following areas:
• Practical pre-treatment for paint damage – how to carry out correct repairs to ensure that the protective properties are maintained
• NORSOK requirements related to dollie testing – what the test involves, how it is conducted, and why it is critical
• Review of recommended tools for repairs, including the use of needle hammers, brite blasters, grinding wheels, etc.

The workshop will provide a thorough and practical review of these activities, with room for discussion, sharing of experiences and questions.

The workshop will be held at OneSubsea on Horsøy. We will meet at Grieghallen and take a shared bus there and back. The workshop has limited places so it will be first come, first served!

10:00 – How a good painting system is established
10:30 – Coffee break / networking
11:00 – Grinding wheels and tools used offshore
11:15 – Induction paint removal
11:30 – Paint defects, damage and claims – what should we do?
11:45–13:30
• Participants are divided into groups
• Rotation between stations (approx. 15 min per station)
• Practical tests and demonstrations (incl. dollie testing)
• Group 1–3: Practical demonstration
• Group 4–6: Lunch
1:30 PM – Review of preparations, with video from a professional
14:00 – Injuries – real-life case stories
14:40 – Discussion: What have we learned? Was this useful?
15:10 – Tour of OneSubsea (groups of 10–15 people)
16:00 – Bus back to Grieg Hall

 

Time and place: November 16, 2026, One Subsea Horsøy
Transport: A round-trip bus service will be provided from Grieghallen.
